In Memory of Sharon Gamsin

We are sorry to report the sad news that former OPC Foundation board member Sharon Gamsin has died.  Sharon firmly believed in the Foundation's mission and for many years she and her family funded an annual fellowship, helping launch the careers of more than a half-dozen international journalists.

A former foreign correspondent, Sharon began her career covering the oil industry for Journal of Commerce and the Oil and Gas Journal and was regularly seen at OPEC meetings. She later transitioned to media relations and corporate communications, working for the New York Stock Exchange,  SmithKline Beecham in the UK, Merrill Lynch (Hong Kong) and MasterCard. She was the consummate communicator,  loyal supporter of journalism organizations and a good friend to all.
