Carlos Garcia Joins the Wall Street Journal

Carlos Garcia, the OPC Foundation Scholar Award winner ‘25, has been hired by the Wall Street Journal as a production assistant on its daily podcast “The Journal.”

Carlos is an audio producer focused on business reporting. He has been covering how U.S. migration affects the economy, a theme he also reported for the NPR.

Carlos has extensive international experience and he has worked in Ethiopia, France, and Chile. He is fluent in Spanish and French, with proficiency in Amharic and Portuguese.

Carlos graduated from the Craig Newmark School of Journalism at CUNY in 2025. He also holds a master’s degree in French from Middlebury College.
